The Mountain Goats

The Mountain Goats is an acclaimed American indie folk-rock band formed in Claremont, California in 1991 by singer-songwriter and novelist John Darnielle. Celebrated for Darnielle's literate, highly narrative lyricism, the project evolved from lo-fi cassette recordings into a revered full-band ensemble featuring bassist Peter Hughes, multi-instrumentalist Matt Douglas, and drummer Jon Wurster. With classic albums like Tallahassee (2002) and The Sunset Tree (2005), the group tours worldwide, including multi-night residencies at The Fillmore in San Francisco.
