The Hip Abduction

The Hip Abduction is an American indie pop, Afro-pop, and tropical reggae-rock collective based in St. Petersburg, Florida, formed in 2010 by singer-songwriter David New. Combining West African stringed instruments (kora and ngoni) with reggae rhythms, afrobeat percussion, and anthemic pop hooks, the group reached the top 5 of the Billboard Reggae chart with their self-titled album and released acclaimed records like Gold Under the Glow. The band tours major amphitheaters nationwide, including Greenfield Lake Amphitheater in Wilmington, North Carolina.
