The Bouncing Souls

The Bouncing Souls are an American punk rock band formed in 1989 and based in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The original members grew up in Basking Ridge and attended Ridge High School together before moving to New Brunswick, where the band became a fixture of the city's basement and club scene. Vocalist Greg Attonito, guitarist Pete Steinkopf and bassist Bryan Kienlen have played in the group since the start; Shal Khichi drummed from 1989 to 2000 and Michael McDermott from 2000 to 2013, with George Rebelo taking the seat in 2013. The band has recorded for its own Chunksaah Records as well as BYO, Epitaph, Rise and Pure Noise, and its studio albums run from The Good, the Bad, and the Argyle in 1994 and Maniacal Laughter in 1996 through a self-titled 1997 record, Hopeless Romantic in 1999, How I Spent My Summer Vacation in 2001, Anchors Aweigh in 2003, The Gold Record in 2006, Ghosts on the Boardwalk in 2010, Comet in 2012, Simplicity in 2016, Volume 2 in 2020 and Ten Stories High in 2023. The Crucial Moments EP marked the band's thirtieth anniversary in 2019. A fourteenth album, Born to Be, was produced by Will Yip at Memory Music Studios and released on June 26, 2026, ten tracks led by the single The Light, and the band is touring the United States and Canada behind it across 2026 and 2027 alongside The Suicide Machines.
