In Color
In Color is a Nashville alternative pop and alternative rock band formed in early 2024 by Holden Clontz, Matthew Hastings, Val Hoyt and Miles Laderman. The four arrived at the group through overlapping friendships rather than auditions: Hoyt and Laderman met in middle school in Atlanta, went on to the same high school and then to Belmont University in Nashville, where they were roommates for years, while Clontz moved to Nashville at nineteen and met Hastings through a mutual roommate. A severe snowstorm that shut the city down in early 2024 stranded all four in the same house, and the writing sessions that followed became the band. They released the debut single Headlights, which they produced and mixed themselves, on 14 February 2025; it passed five million streams and drew label interest. In Color signed with Big Loud Rock on 3 October 2025 and marked the deal the same day with the debut EP Snow Day, a six-track, roughly twenty-minute set collecting Headlights alongside Liar, Is There Anyone? and the new single I Want You. Big Loud Rock president Joey Moi cited the group's chemistry, creative vision and songwriting in announcing the signing. Later that month the band began supporting The Band Camino on North American dates. Their reference points run to 1990s and early-2000s alternative rock and to arena-scale pop; members have named Coldplay, Kings of Leon, Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Switchfoot, U2 and The Beatles, and the recordings thread melodic hooks through layered guitar-and-keyboard arrangements. The band plays club rooms across the United States, among them The Basement in Nashville and The Underground in Charlotte.
