BAANG is a rapper and songwriter from Arkansas whose lyrics draw on his own life and the people around him. He has been releasing music since 2017, when the album What You Want Me to Say? appeared, and followed it with Neighborhood Love Dealer in 2020, both on Stay True Never Lie Recordings. The eight-track album STADIUM STATUS SUPERSTARS and the six-track EP What Got You Here Won't Get You There came out in June and November 2024 through Love More Records, and the eight-track CHAMPIONSHIP CHANCES followed in November 2025, its tracks including TEN TOES with Willie Ro and a piece titled Seth Firkins. Singles include Say I'm Lyin in 2024 and a rapid run through spring 2025 of 215s, Back Around, Wouldn't Change, Halo Harris Freestyle, Check 1, What You Mad About Today and Rounds. He curates BAANG and the Gang, a cross-genre festival he has staged in Bentonville, Arkansas; a 2023 edition ran fourteen hours at CACHE Studios with a lineup including Rampage Wood, Modeling, Yuni Wa, Sarah Lily, Avian Alia, Jordi and Solo Schwo. He has also performed as part of an experimental music series in Fort Smith and appeared on the Little Rock radio show Hip Hop Hello to discuss the festival.
