August Ponthier

August Ponthier is an American indie folk and indie pop singer-songwriter originally from Allen, Texas, and based in Brooklyn, New York. Previously releasing music under the name Allison Ponthier before changing their moniker to August Ponthier, they earned critical acclaim for narrative-focused songwriting and introspective lyrics on EPs including Faking My Own Death (2021) and Shaking Hands with Elvis (2022). In 2026, Ponthier released their debut studio album Everywhere Isn't Texas and toured nationally as direct support for Icelandic folk-rock band Of Monsters and Men.
